In order to develop a comprehensive global baseline of sustainability disclosures, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) led a meeting to discuss and reassess international reporting standards.

The organization desires to develop a consistent, comparable, reliable, and insurable global sustainability information system that can be complemented by regional standards or broader public policy needs.

The draft called International Standard on Sustainability Assurance (ISSA) 5000′, which establishes the general requirements for sustainability assurance commitments, was approved by unanimous decision of the board of directors.
